Children and Families

Do you have children? We have lots of fabulous activities going on for children at the church. We want to help children and youth grow confident in God's constant love for them. Our groups are led by dedicated team of parents who volunteer their time and also checked and trained in Safeguarding.

The Leader of our Schools Team and Minister for Children & Families is Elaine Green. Elaine is qualified primary school Teacher and Licensed Lay Minister for our parish. She serves alongside others including the vicar, on the Ministry Team, as the church seeks to reach out, inspire, teach and welcome children in the way that Jesus welcomed them. Please contact Elaine if you have any questions about Christenings or about our work in the local primary schools: elaine@chatteris.org

Sundays Gatherings at 11am - all age service

Families gather every Sunday at 11AM for worship. The service engages all ages with worship songs and engaging activities as we explore the Bible together. Everyone and anyone is welcome to this contemporary style service. Feel free to arrive at 10.30 am to grab a coffee and a biscuit in the Bricstan Hall first. We will move into the main church building for 11 am. We hope you can join us.

Toddler Praise

Toddler Praise group runs from 9.30 - 12 noon, on Fridays (term-time only) in the Bricstan Hall for bumps, babies and toddlers with their parents, grandparents, godparents or Carers. We welcome everyone! We hope that you might join us for coffee, a Bible story, crafts or activities along with fun worship songs. If you’d like more information, so check out our Toddler Praise Facebook Page or get in touch with Sabina, by email sabina@chatteris.org or using our contact page. The good news is it is completely free.

Annual LIGHT PARTY

Each year a huge party is planned each year for primary age children round about the 31st October. We found that many parents and children were ambivalent about all that goes on and is connected to Hallowe’en. They wanted to do something that was different and safe. The Light Party focuses on how the light of Christ overcomes the darkness of our fears. Children can dress up for the party or else come as they are. Each year the party is slightly differnt but you can be sure that there will be lots of sweets, games and fun activities for all.

Summer Holiday Club

Holiday Club runs each year. Information about the next holiday can always be found in the Forthcoming Events section of this website. Bookings usually open at the end of June for the event which usually takes place for one week in August.

Holiday Club uses a lot of songs by Duggie dug. Click here to view his latest video for you to enjoy at home.

In the community

School’s work

As the parish church of Chatteris, we work hard to keep strong relationships with the local school communities. We work closely with three local schools, Kingsfield, Glebelands, and Cromwell primary. We have a small team of volunteers on the Schools Team to take assemblies and lessons and also host visits to the church. Along with schools, we are happy to provide support for local uniformed organisations. We are always looking for new people to join our schools team so do get in touch if you’re interested. If you are wanting to book a visit, please contact Elaine Green

Home for good

Every year 40000 children and young people come into care in the UK. We want every child to have a stable and loving home where they can thrive. As a church family we want to support those who welcome children into their homes. Sabina Watson heads up our local network for those who have adopted or providing foster care in Chatteris. Sabina also helps to run our Toddler Praise group. More information about Home for Good can be found on their website: www.homeforgood.org.uk
